The ASE Education Foundation is encouraging industry members to volunteer their time and expertise to serve as mentors, as part of its continuing effort to address the shortage of automotive service professionals. Those interested in becoming a mentor should contact the ASE field manager for their area.
Buehler’s journey into teaching began unexpectedly during his time as a technician with the Ohio Department of Transportation. A graduate of the prestigious University of Northwestern Ohio, he holds an impressive 51 ASE certifications, including six master-level certifications and all advanced L series designations.
During National Apprenticeship Week, NAPA , in collaboration with the TechForce Foundation , launched the “Grab the Wheel” campaign, aiming to encourage the next generation of technicians. This program helps participants complete their ASE certifications over 18 to 24 months.
The ASE Education Foundation is encouraging industry members to volunteer as mentors to address the shortage of automotive service professionals. “There are ASE field managers covering each state, so we encourage interested individuals to reach out to them to see how they can help in their local areas.”
