Last year, right in time for the fall season, The Blue Oval company debuted a substantial exterior and interior refresh of the best-selling F-Series asset, the 2024 F-150. Naturally, Ram Trucks followed suit and came up with the 2025 Ram 1500 family.
Ford is going down the traditional route – they worked on the styling, tech package, and features but didn't touch the engines. Actually, they updated the flagship F-150 Raptor R to settle the score with the outgoing 2024 Ram 1500 TRX and brought the 5.2-liter supercharged V8 to no less than 720 horsepower. Meanwhile, Ram not only worked on the design, tech features, and other goodies, but they also ushered in a new powertrain era.

So, they kept the V6 with eTorque mild hybrid as the base option, but now the Hemi V8s are gone in favor of the 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six twin-turbo mill with standard (420 hp) and high outputs (540 hp). They are not coming alone – there's also the reborn Ram 1500 Ramcharger range-extended model with 663 combined horsepower, as well as the all-electric Ram 1500 REV. As for Chevrolet and its cousin GMC, they're content with the ZR2 and AT4X plus ZR2 Bison and AT4X AEV Edition models that bring out the best off-road DNA in them.

Alas, since there are no mighty powertrains and models like the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO, Ramcharger, or Raptor R, maybe it's not enough for Chevy fans to satisfy their ego. As such, what should we do? Perhaps it's time to check out what the imaginative realm of digital car content creators has to showcase, as they usually come out with quirky yet effective ideas. For example, Jim, a virtual artist better known as jlord8 on social media, loves messing around with all things CGI from the automotive realm; now he dreams of a feisty Silverado that goes against everything its rivals have on offer: a short bed, Single Cab Chevy Silverado 1500 ZL1.

Yep, that's right – if you would let this pixel master have his way with the Silverado lineup, he would go against dune bashing and rock crawling in the high-performance street truck direction. Naturally, to achieve the desiderate, he would ask Team Camaro to step in and bring some of its experience with the Camaro ZL1 along with the 6.2-liter LT4 supercharged V8 producing 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm), as well as their aerodynamic gizmos. Of course, the truck gets lowered, has a complete aero body kit, and 'freaking' humongous front and rear black wheels shod in skinny performance tires.

So, what do you think – could Chevrolet repurpose the ZL1's technical credentials to deliver a sporty blow to the competition in the ever-lasting full-size pickup truck wars, or is this forever destined to remain merely wishful thinking?
