Hypercar fans, especially those who have a soft spot for the McLaren Senna, should look away. Unless they want to see one copy being crashed after its owner showed off in front of the camera.
The incident occurred on a public street in California recently, and a video released on social media yesterday (Monday) shows the McLaren Senna in question doing some donuts and showing off in front of bystanders in the Woodland Hills area of Los Angeles.

Shortly after doing a smoky, 360-degree turn, the British hypercar accelerates down the road when the vehicle develops a mind of its own. We can see the nose pointing towards the right side of the road, and what happened after that is obvious: the Senna brutally crawled on top of the curb in front of a Lexus dealership, with the impact leaving some deep marks on it.

The aftermath of the accident is not visible in the video shared on Instagram recently by supercar.fails. However, we suspect the McLaren Senna's face was badly damaged. It is also likely that the suspension and brakes took a beating. As a result, it will cost its owner a small fortune to bring it back to its initial shine. Given the rarity and the cost of this model, we reckon it wasn't deemed totaled by the insurance company.

Certain outlets report that a famous YouTuber, Edmond 'Mondi' Barseghian, might have been behind the wheel of the hypercar when it crashed. The YouTuber appears to have taken delivery of this ride a few days back, and his social media showed a few images of it on Sunday. Barseghian went viral some one and a half years ago when he ruined his GMC Hummer EV, which had only nine miles (15 km) under its belt.

Only 500 copies of the McLaren Senna saw the light of day. Production spanned between 2018 and 2019 at the brand's Woking factory in Surrey, England. It's a mid-engine and rear-wheel drive machine that shares many nuts and bolts with the 720S, Elva, and Speedtail. It uses a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 with 789 hp (800 ps/588 kW) and 590 pound-foot (800 Nm) of torque. The 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) is deployed in 2.8 seconds, and it can push up to 208 mph (335 kph).

McLaren says the Senna has a curb weight of a little over 1.3 tons (2,866 pounds) and a dry weight of just under 1.2 tons (2,641 pounds). It measures 186.8 inches (4,744 mm) from bumper to bumper, is 84.8 inches (2,153 mm) wide, and 47 inches (1,195 mm) tall. The combined fuel consumption on the WLTP test cycle is 19 US mpg (12.4 l/100 km), returning 280 g/km of CO2 on average. The Senna is valued at roughly $1.5 million in today's market.
