Currently, there aren't a lot of passenger car options across the US automotive market anymore. If you also narrow your choices within the realm of the Big Detroit Three, it's almost like a deserted garage.
For example, Dodge just wrapped up production of the Hemi-powered Charger muscle sedan and Challenger coupe in December 2023, and Chrysler also retired the 300 series around the same time. So, no luck for Mopar fans unless there's still additional inventory around dealer lots.

Meanwhile, The Blue Oval company has one of the most affordable V8-powered models – the S650 seventh-generation 2024 Ford Mustang GT with the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 starting from almost $43k in Fastback body style. As for General Motors, its Chevrolet brand also abandoned the Camaro way of life late last year, but it still has the C8 Corvette roaming around in Stingray, Z06, and E-Ray format.

Plus, interestingly, GM also lets Cadillac offer not one but two luxury sedans that can turn feisty at the turn of the V-Series Blackwing key. More precisely, we are talking about the compact Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing sedan rocking a twin-turbo V6 and 472 horsepower plus the mighty Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing sedan boasting the 668-hp 6.2-liter supercharged V8 under the hood. It's a $95k affair with the manual transmission or a $98k sedan with the ten-speed automatic transmission.

But if you think it's a bit too expensive, remember that GM also builds the C8 Chevy Corvette Z06, boasting the record-breaking FPC V8 and 670 horsepower, for no less than $112,700 without destination and other fees. All in all, quite interestingly, while the CT5-V Blackwing and Corvette Z06 shouldn't compete with each other, they are eerily similar in terms of raw power. Naturally, folks are bound to race them in a bid to decide who's faster, right?

That is precisely what happened in the latest video feature shared courtesy of the good folks over at YouTube's racing-focused ImportRace channel. They usually love regular quarter-mile drags at Island Dragway but sometimes also enjoy some feisty rolls.

This time around, they were at Bradenton Motorsports Park for a Street Heat event, and the videographer's attention was grabbed by the arrival of two menacing cars – a black Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing and an equally dark and menacing C8 Chevy Corvette Z06. They didn't stand much before horsing around as the format of the event was simple – three rounds of roll races starting at 40 mph (64 kph).

While most folks would tend to choose the Z06 as the winner from the onset, as the CT5-V Blackwing sedan is presumably bulkier than a homologation-special two-door mid-engine coupe, it's wise to also factor in the powertrains. More precisely, the Blackwing is supercharged and should give the maximum torque faster, while the Z06 is a high-revving atmospheric god. Alas, in the end, there could be only one winner – every time!
