The Trans Am production was getting ready to take off in 1974, as the nameplate started the decade with baby steps before becoming the number one model in the Firebird lineup.
Only 10,255 Trans Ams rolled off the assembly lines in 1974, with the base Firebird still representing the most common choice for buyers who walked into a Pontiac dealership.

However, it was still a notable increase from the previous year when the GM brand produced 4,802 units. The numbers more than doubled again in 1975 and again in 1976 when the Trans Am production included 27,274 and 46,701 units, respectively.

The Trans Am in these photos also rolled off the assembly lines in 1974, but its condition is still impressive.

eBay seller castlehunterconstruction says "everything has been redone," as their father bought the car as a project, and built it for himself, but now has to let it go because other projects require more attention.

The Trans Am was found in Gordon, Texas, a small town with a population of approximately 500 people. It has been sitting since the early '80s. The seller says they took it home and started a refresh, including under the hood. The engine has less than 300 miles on it after the overhaul, the transmission has also been gone through, the paint and the decals are new, and rust is a concept this Trans Am has never heard about.

The interior is completely original, but the air conditioning system doesn't work, albeit it has all the components to get it up and running. One important thing you must know: the car has no bondo, as it was stored in the barn in great shape and without rust. However, the fresh coat of paint still requires some attention, as it exhibits small chips where the hood and the fender meet.

You can imagine that the 455ci engine under the hood sounds amazing, and the owner guarantees this Trans Am is ready to take you anywhere. If you don't mind the small imperfections, you can hop in and drive, as the Trans Am has already been prepared for the road.

The odometer also indicates an intriguing number. The car has 28,490 miles on the clock, and they are all original.

The digital fight is underway, but the reserve is yet to be triggered. The top bid is $22,500 after 57 offers received in the last six days, and with one day remaining until the auction ends, the battle would better get fiercer. The car comes with a Buy It Now price of $35,950, so if you want to buy the car without a fight, hit this option and take the Trans Am home right now.
