VinFast made it to America way faster than robust Chinese carmakers that are still dreaming of crossing the ocean. And it is going big. The Vietnamese car manufacturer has just signed agreements with 12 more dealers in the US.
VinFast is working hard to broaden its distribution network and strengthen its presence in the world's automotive market. The carmaker is making a new step towards its goal by expanding its distribution network in the United States. It now has no fewer than 18 stores opened across seven states.
The list now includes 12 new franchised dealerships that will sell battery-electric crossovers starting this month. Five are in Florida, and four are in Texas, while the automaker opened its first locations in Kentucky and Connecticut. Things are happening at a high pace for VinFast, which opened its first dealership in December 2023, which was four months ago.
In California, the state with the highest rate of EV adoption, VinFast already has 15 of the 18 stores and service centers. It is also currently active in North Carolina, New York, Texas, Florida, and Kansas.
VinFast will start selling the VF 8, VF 9, and VF 7, with the latter soon to launch. The VF 3 mini-SUV will also set wheels on US soil. The automaker offers a ten-year/125,000-mile warranty for the vehicle and a ten-year unlimited mileage warranty for the battery pack.

David Duncan, vice president of sales and marketing at VinFast US, says that offering an extensive network of stores, market experience, and capabilities at the same level as the leading dealers in the country will help the brand deliver high-quality products and services to customers, as well as a high-level after-sales policy. VinFast will thus be able to establish a solid foundation in the market.
The automaker's parts distribution center supports dealers nationwide. Authorized dealers submit requests into a dedicated system. The requests are processed and attended to as fast as possible.
In the United States, VinFast started out with a direct-to-consumer distribution strategy. It subsequently switched to a hybrid plan, setting up a dealership network. The brand expects the new plan to significantly increase sales figures in the second half of 2024.
VinFast also sells cars in Canada and Europe, as well as several markets in Asia, such as India, Indonesia, and Thailand. The automaker is also planning to expand to the Middle East and Africa.
The Vietnamese car manufacturer is building a $4 billion EV factory in Chatham County, North Carolina. The facility is scheduled to start operations in 2025. It would be VinFast's first production center outside Vietnam, which should provide 7,500 jobs in the region by 2027.
The carmaker is also planning to establish a plant in Indonesia and another one in order to ramp up production.
