One of the great things about the Ford Mustang GT is that you get a lot of power for a relatively small amount of money. Unfortunately, that also means that it doesn’t take a ton of money for any idiot to get a car with way more power than they have the skill to handle. That’s led to so many crashes leaving Cars and Coffee events that it’s become a cliche. One driver in Indianapolis, though, recently upped the ante by launching his Mustang into a house.

According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, the crash didn’t even take place at night. If, for whatever reason, the driver couldn’t see, that would make it more understandable, but no. This crash happened at about 1:00 p.m. It’s still entirely possible the driver was drunk at the time, but one of the photos the IFD posted shows damage to the right fender that doesn’t appear to be related to the crash. So maybe the owner was just a terrible driver even when sober.

In a move that’s almost too on the nose to be believable, the house that the driver hit is located on Shelby Street. Then again, if there’s one thing we’ve learned since 2016, it’s that while fiction has to be believable, reality isn’t held to the same standard. That really is a shame, but oh well, what can you do?

Thankfully, no one was killed or seriously injured in the crash. The driver was reportedly still inside the car when the fire department showed up but was able to get out on his own. He was then taken to a local hospital to be evaluated, but it doesn’t sound like he was hurt badly. Apparently, no one inside the house was injured, either. Unfortunately for the owners, there’s still a Mustang-shaped hole in the side of their house that they’ll have to get fixed, but that’s a lot less important than someone’s life.
