Offered for 2019 exclusively, the C7-generation ZR1 is the most powerful series-production Corvette of them all. Just under 3,000 retail units were produced, split between 2,441 coupes and 512 convertibles. The Sebring Orange launch color was the most popular of the bunch, with Sebring Orange ZR1 Convertible production totaling 197 vehicles.
Chassis number 1G1Y53D97K5802607 is one of those cars, and with 965 miles (1,553 kilometers) on the clock at the moment of reporting, it's begging to be driven hard by the next owner. In other words, the model we found on Bring a Trailer hasn't even finished its engine oil break-in period. The owner's manual for the C7  states that oil consumption may be higher than normal during the vehicle's first 1,500 miles (2,414 kilometers), during which you shouldn't partake in any sort of competitive event.

This example of the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Convertible is a 3ZR, which is the best-equipped trim of the lot. However, the first owner did not specify the ZTK Track Performance Package that gives the C7-generation ZR1 an adjustable high wing and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber shoes.

Regular production order code ZTK also included a front splitter with carbon-fiber end caps and specific Magnetic Ride Control and chassis tuning. Even though it does not feature said go-faster goodies, bear in mind that both rear wings are tied into the chassis à la the Corvette Racing C7.R racecar.

Equipped with the automatic transmission rather than the manual, 1G1Y53D97K5802607 is currently sitting on a high bid of $125,965 on Bring a Trailer. Considering that the 1ZR convertible used to start at $126,495 (including destination charge), this fellow is obviously worth more. As per the window sticker, the final price was $147,685.

The Sebring Orange Design Package is the most expensive option listed at 6,995 bucks. The gas-guzzler tax is 2,100 dollars compared to $3,000 for the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Located in California, the no-nonsense sports car is offered with a Carfax report showing no accidents at all.

Be that as it may, 1G1Y53D97K5802607 shows a bit of scraping on the underside of the underbody engine cover panel and the carbon-fiber splitter. Looking at the glass half full, both of these parts can be professionally repaired or even fully replaced.

Although we're months away from the debut of the C8-generation ZR1, the C7 holds a special place in Corvette history. In addition to being the final series-production Corvette with the engine mounted in front of the passenger cell, the C7 also happens to be the only Corvette to sport a dual-injected engine. More specifically, the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 of the ZR1 is the only Gen V small block to combine direct and port fuel injection.

That's how General Motors was able to extract 755 horsepower and 715 pound-feet (970 Nm) of tire-shredding torque. That said, you should look forward to 800 – if not more – horsepower from the C7 Corvette ZR1's twin-turbocharged successor.
